It is the best to have such a seamless application. We can listen to Spotify on our iPhone or Android, switch over to the computer and it picks up where we left off, switch to our JK1001 and it’s still the same! You can also compile your own library of music that you want to hear, and then make playlists with them or just listen to the whole thing on shuffle.
When it comes to the JK1001 & FJ1001, there is a particular feature of Spotify that comes in real handy. The Spotify Premium feature/subscription also allows you to take your library (up to 3,333 songs) and save them to a storage device for offline use! That means if you’re out trekking an awesome mountain trail in your vehicle, and you are out of data service, you can still listen to all of your favorites right in your dash board. At only $10/month, it is one of the cheaper streaming services as well.
If you are a Spotify Premium subscriber, getting music saved for offline use is a snap! You will need a MicroSd card installed in the SD Card slot of your JK/FJ1001 unit. First, go to the menu in the upper-right corner of the Home screen. Then, tap the “Settings” icon in the lower right corner of the menu. (It looks like a small gear) Once you have opened Settings, scroll down to the OTHER category. In this, you will find an option that says “Storage.” Tap this option to open it. Then, select the “SD card” option that says --/mnt/external_sd2--. After that, you will need to make sure you have saved all of the music you want in your library. Once you have done that, tap the menu option in the upper left of the Home screen, and scroll down to “Your Library.”

Once you have opened your library, (I always open mine to the “Songs” view) you will notice a little slide lever to the right and above your song list. It is labeled “Available Offline.”

After you slide the lever over, you will notice little download symbols appear in gray beside each song in your library. Once you then connect to an internet source via WiFi, the songs will start to download.

Once the download is complete, the download symbols will turn green. This means they have been saved to the MicroSD card and are now ready for offline use!

Spotify does say that you will need to connect your device to the internet every once in a while to verify subscription and download any updates. Also, just so you know, the music files are encrypted and can only be played on the Spotify player. They are not full mp3 files.
All in all, we love Spotify for our JK1001 & FJ1001! Try it out, and you will too!
